Who We Are
Rosebud Sea Scouts started in the late 1940's, on the Rosebud foreshore near Boneo Road.
We are proud of our Sea Scout heritage and we strive to keep our Sea Scout spirit alive.
We take part in all activities, land and water based, that are available to us as a member group of Scouts Victoria.

Rosebud Sea Scouts uphold Scouts Australia's Scout Law and Scout Promise. ,in addition to which we have a Group Code

Our mission in doing this is to create an atmosphere of team-work, support and encouragement, as part of the world Scouting movement.

Our Scout Hall SS Coleman was built with the proceeds of bottle drives between 1949 and its grand opening in 1951.

The hall bears the name of one of the group's founding families - several generations of the Coleman family not only helped build the hall, but were a mainstay of our adult leader ranks over a number of decades. The Colemans still maintain a active connection with our group.

All members of Rosebud Sea Scouts are volunteers.
All funds we raise go into hall maintenance, programme equipment (everything from balls to boats!) and supporting our members in their adventure and achievement pathways.

Other than any grant funding that we seek, we are not funded by any government or corporate body. Which means that participation in our key fundraising activities is a necessity for youth members & their parents or guardians, as appropriate.

Our Social Media

Rosebud Sea Scouts uses a number of social media platforms, to deliver information and services.

Team App is our primary source for information on all of our activities - it is available on all platforms.
'Rosebud Sea Scout Group' is the public Facebook page for communication with our local community
'Rosebud Sea Scouts' is for group members only and includes a lot more discussion as well as updates from events.
'Operoo' (Care Monkey) handles our health records and will take over some of the functions served by Team App.

Please check them all out using the links.
What We Offer
Sure, Rosebud Sea Scouts go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling, sailing and canoeing.
But we also hang out with our friends each week: having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Every week we give our youth members from 5 to 18 years old the skills they need for life.
For all the challenges they face. From school, to college or university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: In Scouts, they prepare for adventure and prepare for life.
And our adult members benefit enormously from both their training and their interaction with our young people.
Everyone’s welcome here.
Whoever you are - there’s a Scout adventure here waiting for you.
As our World Organisation of Scouting Movements might say, we participate in a range of activities ‘to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and character development of young people so that they take a constructive place in society as a member of their local, national and international community.’

Our Scout Hall, SS Coleman, is situated on the Rosebud foreshore. We open our back doors and we're on the beach!
Great for our water activities!

We also have easy access to the Mornington Peninsula's great campsites and walking tracks - camping, hiking, mountain bike riding, and more!

Plenty of opportunity for adventure!

We have experienced & trained volunteer leaders, as well as access to specialist adventurous activity leaders. The more of these valuable people we have, the more adventure & development pathways we can offer our youth members.
Whatever your age, whatever your stage in life.
If you think you have something to give, step up.

You'll be so glad you did.
